A robuchi (sunken hearth frame) for the tea ceremony, crafted by the lacquer artist Watanabe Shinichi in the Wajima lacquer tradition. The piece is finished in shin-nuri (true black lacquer) and decorated with Kodaiji maki-e in the shikunshi (four gentlemen) motif of plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum. Comes with the original wooden box (tomobako).

Condition: No damage such as breakage. There was no signature or mark. Some rubbing is seen, likely from use.
