Returns & Refunds
Almost everything here is old, and most of it is one of a kind. We describe each piece as clearly and honestly as we can, and we treat age, patina and gentle use as part of what these objects are — the marks of a real life in Japan, not defects.
Returns — the short version
- Return window: 14 days from the day your order is delivered.
- Any reason is fine. If a piece is not right for you, you may return it.
- Condition: the item must come back in the same condition you received it, packed as carefully as it arrived.
- Return shipping: paid by you, tracked — unless the return is our error (a wrong or misdescribed item, or damage in transit), in which case we cover it.
- Refund: the full price you paid, to your original payment method, within 14 days of the returned item reaching us in Japan — usually much sooner.
How to start a return
- Within 14 days of delivery, reply to your order confirmation email or use the contact page.
- We confirm the return address in Japan within 2 business days.
- Ship the item back with tracking within 14 days of letting us know, and share the tracking number with us.
- Your refund is issued within 14 days of the parcel reaching us.
Please always contact us before sending anything back — these are one-of-a-kind objects, and an agreed return is handled far faster than an unannounced parcel.
Damage or loss in transit
Every parcel is tracked and packed with care. If something arrives damaged, or does not arrive at all, contact us within 7 days of delivery (or of the expected delivery date) with photos of the item and packaging, and we will make it right — a repair, a full refund, or a replacement where one exists.
