Natural medium sharpening whetstone (Tanba Aoto, Shohonzan type) from the Tanba region of Kyoto Prefecture. Suitable as a medium-grit finishing stone with a grit range of approximately #2000 to #6000. The mud is standard, and it can be used without a Nagura stone. No layering features, and no veins that affect use.
