A luxury Japanese fountain pen decorated with maki-e, the celebrated traditional Japanese lacquer art. A design created by Higashiyama Gaho is elegantly rendered by a maki-e artisan of Wajima. The grape motif, prized east and west as a symbol of prosperity and abundant harvest for its vigorous vines and generous clusters, is depicted with rich, vivid coloring. The cap features a cluster of grapes while the barrel shows grape leaves.
The pen uses a Slip Seal mechanism that prevents ink from drying for up to two years, solving the common problem of ink drying out during periods of non-use and allowing safe use of pigment inks with high water and light resistance.
