This is an ohikizuri (trailing) kimono made of pure silk, worn by the current owner's grandmother during her days as a geisha, dating to approximately 1945 (Showa era), about 80 years old. It carries three family crests of the Mitsugashiwa design on the back, marking it as a high-grade piece. The chrysanthemum motifs are accented in yellow, with a delicate small floral pattern in blue. This is a single-layer (hitoe) ohikizuri with cotton padding at the hem for a full, rounded drape, the type of garment often seen in period dramas. The seller notes there are numerous stains and soiling due to age and wear, so please consider it as an item to display or add to a collection.
