An Oga Aoishi (Oga blue stone) viewing stone from the Oga Peninsula in Akita Prefecture. Based on a deep blue-green tone interwoven with brown and grey, it presents a natural landscape shaped over long years. Oga Aoishi is described as a rhyolitic igneous rock containing jasper-like and spherulitic structures, giving it a distinctive scenery where green, yellow and brown intermingle.
The front face has a naturally formed cavity that reveals different expressions depending on the viewing angle. Because the landscape can be enjoyed from both left and right, it holds strong presence as a principal stone for a tokonoma alcove or display shelf. It comes with a dedicated wooden stand, so it can be appreciated immediately upon arrival.
Dimensions (including stand): Width approx. 28 cm, Height approx. 18 cm, Depth approx. 15 cm
Weight: approx. 5702 g
Includes: Dedicated wooden stand
Condition: As a natural stone, there are naturally occurring unevenness, cavities, color variation and small scratches, which are part of the charm of a natural stone. Please refer to the photos for the item's current appearance and condition.
