A large guinomi sake cup by Murakoshi Takuma, made from coarse Shigaraki mountain clay with natural ash and Shino glaze applied in separate areas, then fired at high temperature for a long time to produce a beautiful vidro (glassy melted-ash) effect. Murakoshi was born in Shinshiro City, Aichi in 1954, studied under the potter Umehara Buhei from 1980, and established his own kiln in 1999, working with a dedication to Shigaraki mountain clay.

Dimensions: Height approx. 6.3 cm; Diameter approx. 7 to 7.5 cm

Condition: Because of the coarse clay there are haze-like cracks around the rim; these are a characteristic of the clay and not a flaw. Please refer to the photos for the item's current appearance and condition.

Includes: Signed wooden box (tomobako). No printed insert (shiori).
