Mihoko Kasamatsu Woodblock Print Sanka Senshun Multi-color Signed Ltd 10/120 Framed

A multi-color woodblock print titled "Sanka Senshun" (Early Spring in the Mountain Gorge) by Mihoko Kasamatsu, a woodblock print artist and the eldest daughter of the shin-hanga artist Kasamatsu Shiro. The composition shows a mountain gorge holding lingering snow, with branches bearing yellow blossoms spreading across the scene. Layers of pale gray distant peaks, purplish-brown mountain slopes, and deep green forest convey the transition from winter to spring.

The bright yellow of the foreground adds color to the quiet landscape, while the delicate carving and overlapping multi-color printing richly express the texture of the mountainside and vegetation.
