"Konjikido - Spring" is a multi-color woodblock print by Masao Ido, a printmaker known for depicting Japanese landscapes and the changing of the four seasons. The serene composition shows cherry blossom petals drifting across a temple precinct, with a stone lantern and stone steps leading up to the Konjikido hall. Rich layers of color ranging from bright young leaves to deep green set off the white cherry blossoms, while the soft printed surface characteristic of woodblock and the sense of depth in the composition are its distinguishing qualities.
The work is dated 1990 (marked "'90" in the margin). Pencil-signed in the lower margin with the title, year, and edition number, and bearing an artist's seal in the lower right of the image.
