The glossy black lacquer lid depicts a grand landscape of Mount Fuji, a three-tiered pagoda, and a sailing ship rendered in fine maki-e technique. The underside bears a gold maki-e workshop mark reading "Taka" ("f"). Inside sits a natural stone inkstone (suzuri) fitted neatly in place, accompanied by a metal water dropper.
Includes: maki-e suzuribako (body and lid), natural stone inkstone, metal water dropper, and a wooden tomobako storage box inscribed in ink "Fuji Meisho Maki-e Suzuribako."
Dimensions (box body): approx. 22 cm length x 15 cm width x 4 cm height
Condition: As an antique lacquerware, there is fine surface rubbing and age-related character typical of the type, but no prominent cracks or splits. The gloss remains and the overall condition is very good. Please refer to the photos for the item's current appearance and condition.
