An Edo period inro executed in Somada-zaiku, a refined lacquer technique combining raden (mother-of-pearl and shell inlay) with gold maki-e. The piece depicts a landscape scene with birds and flowers rendered in a gold-dust maki-e style, accompanied by a netsuke carved in the form of a cicada.
This inro is documented in published reference material and comes from the collection of a distinguished family.
