Bizen ware guinomi sake cup by Naoki Yokoyama, made using a marbled clay with excellent earthy character in the natural neri-komi (marbling) technique passed down from his teacher, Fumio Kawabata.

Naoki Yokoyama is a Bizen ware potter born in 1970 in Okayama Prefecture (Setouchi City, Osafune). In 1991 he entered the Bizen Pottery Training Center, and in 1992 he became a disciple of Bizen ware artist Fumio Kawabata. In 2000 he built his own climbing kiln in Kagato, Bizen City, and became independent. He specializes in the shizen neri-komi (natural marbling) technique learned from his teacher, applying it to flower vessels, tea ceramics, and tableware.
