Shimizu Uichi

Shimizu Uichi (1926–2004), born in Kyoto, moved his kiln to Horai near Lake Biwa and was designated a Living National Treasure for iron-glaze ceramics in 1985. His work ranges from celadon vases to iron-glazed jars and tea bowls, with a plain strength in the form. Pieces here come with a signed box and cloth where noted.
