Collection: Arakawa Toyozo

Arakawa Toyozo (1894–1985) rediscovered the Momoyama-period Shino kiln sites in Mino in 1930 and spent the rest of his life reviving Shino and Seto-guro wares. He was designated a Living National Treasure in 1955. His sake cups and tea bowls show the thick white feldspar glaze with red-orange scorch marks that define Shino. Pieces here come with a signed box where noted.
