A letter box (fubako) of Wajima lacquerware. The black lacquer surface is decorated with maki-e depicting clematis (tessen) flowers, giving it a refined and calm appearance. This piece bears the "Kan" design by Hiroko Kawasaki, produced by Soneya, and carries an impressed seal.
