A traditional lacquer writing box (suzuribako) finished in black lacquer with a refined maki-e design of chrysanthemums, pine, and flowing water. Decorated in gold and vermilion, it also incorporates a family crest motif. It may be used as a ryoshibako (paper document box) as well.
The traditional lacquer decoration makes it suitable for storing important documents, and it is well suited as a commemorative gift, among other uses.
