He was recognized as a holder of Shiga Prefecture's technique-preservation status for Shigaraki ware in 1941 and again designated an Intangible Cultural Property holder in 1964, won a grand prize at the 1960 Brussels World's Fair ceramics section, and received honors including a Labor Minister commendation.
